Visiting Trinity?

We’re glad to have you join us at Trinity!  Whether you are looking for a church home, or just curious about church, you are very much welcome at our Sunday worship service.  Here are a few things that might make your visit more enjoyable.

When to Come

Our weekly worship service starts at 10:30 am on Sunday.  If you arrive early, you can join us for our informal sing-along that starts at around 10:20 am.

What to Wear

At Trinity, you’ll find some folks in jeans, and others in suits.  We’re far more interested in who people are than in what they wear.

Getting to Trinity

Trinity United Church is located at 50 Laidlaw St. N., Cannington.  There is parking to the south of the church building.  Need a map?

Getting Inside

You can enter the building from the south entrance, just off of the parking lot.  However, if you’re new to Trinity, you might find it easier to walk around to the east of the building and enter through the main doors.  When you get inside, go up the short flight of stairs to either your right or left, and through another set of doors into the main worship area.  You’ll find someone at the door who will meet you, give you an outline of the day’s service, and be able to answer any questions you may have.

Disability Access

There is disability parking available, and elevator access to the church directly from the parking lot.

Children

All children are invited to join our nursery (infants to 4-year-olds) or multi-age Sunday School (Kindergarten through Gr. 6).  If they prefer, there is also a table at the back of the sanctuary with crayons and colouring books for children to use during the service.

What To Expect

10:20 am:  As we get ready for our worship service, our Adult Choir or our youth praise team leads us in some singing.  This is an informal time as people come into the main sanctuary and get ready for the service.

10:30 am:  Our main service starts at 10:30 am.  You can follow along in the bulletin that you were given at the door (If you don’t have one by the time you’re seated, just ask for help in finding one).  This part of the service includes prayer and singing.

10:45 am (or thereabouts):  After the first part of the service, there will be a Children’s Conversation, when children up to 12 years old join Reverend Janet at the front of the sanctuary for a story and conversation.  After this, children can go downstairs for either nursery or Sunday School if they wish; if they’d prefer, however, they may stay upstairs for the remainder of the service.

After the children leave, we read Scripture, listen to a sermon, and pray.  We also pass an offering plate around to make it easy for our church family members to give financially to Trinity.  As our guest, please do not feel any obligation to make a donation.  We just want you to enjoy your time with us.

11:30 am (or thereabouts):  Usually our church service wraps up by around 11:30.  On special Sundays, such as those when we have Holy Communion together, the service tends to go a little longer.  Once the service ends, please join us at the back of the sanctuary for some coffee and refreshments — after retrieving your children from downstairs, of course.
