>LUNCH & LEARN event at Trinity Cannington at noon on Sunday September 23. Our guest speaker will be Gail Lenters, founder of Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge in Pefferlaw. Light lunch provided. All welcome.
“Since opening the doors of Shades of Hope in 2013, the rehabilitation centre has
provided care to more than 13,000 wounded or orphaned wild animals. Caring people
who have rescued and transported broken and suffering wildlife to Shades of Hope
Wildlife Refuge for care, including firemen, construction workers, grandmothers
and others, provide an inspiration to Ms. Lenters. She says she was always driven
to work hard
and wasted no opportunity. Taught from an early age that there is never “nothing to
do”, she was challenged daily to accomplish, learn, and achieve. Ms. Lenters also
learned that kindness and responsibility must be considered in every decision.
“Giving back should be a natural progression of maturity. It is meaningful,
fulfilling, rewarding and something everyone can do”. Still working full time as
the owner of a print management company which allows her to support her passion, Ms.
Lenters hopes to eventually retire to devote her complete energy to wildlife care.”
Ms Lenters also provides an internship geared to university students studying
conservation, wildlife biology or veterinarian sciences.
